Chicken Breed Focus - Welsummer

thank you for the warm welcome, excited to be here.
that is very true :)

You should post an intro on the New Member forum! There are quite a few "greeters" that always enjoy saying hello to BYC's newest. Here's a link to take you there, say as much or as little as you like...it's just a chance to meet a few nice folks.

We bought four welsummer pullets along with a mixed flock this year. This week we confirmed through his first crow that one of our she's is a he! Lol they are such sweet birds

Beautiful!!

I'm looking forward to my Wellie rooster chick on April 3rd, plus several Welsummer pullets. After reading some reviews, I am satisfied I made a good choice. I always research a new breed I haven't had before, so I was pretty confident, but all these good reviews have given me a big smile. Thanks all for posting about your 'Wellies'.

After reading this thread, I can't wait to get my hands on half a dozen Wellies! If not this year, then definitely next spring! Is it too late to order chicks this year? My current "chicklets" will be ready to integrate with the Big Girls in about a month .... I can set up the brooder again ..... maybe eggs would be better, my boy needs to earn a Pathfinders honor in Poultry Husbandry; we could maybe borrow an incubator from the Extension Office ... oh, darn that "chicken math" anyway!
