Hi. I purchased 3 straight run bantam chicks. I am wondering if anyone knows what type they are. Two of them are getting feathers that stand straight up on their head. They are super cute! Any input would be appreciated.

Post photos of them again when they are about 10 to 12 weeks old and many people here on the forum are good at identifying gender. Silkies are famous for being very ambiguous in that department!😊

I will .. right now they are a little over a month old. Not that they are mean but I have to catch them if I want to hold them I have 17 other babies all different breeds and most of them run over and jump on my lap for snuggles .. I’ve been working with them since day one to get them friendly. One of the silkies has deformed feet but it doesn’t stop it can run just as fast as the others I couldn’t leave it at the store figured it deserved a chance at life. 15 out of the 20 new chicks I have I bought as pullets but I’m worried they made a mistake about a few of them I guess I’ll see as they get a little bigger. I’m especially worried about the dominiques because the two look so different. I have two other flocks of hens I can introduce a rooster into but am hoping to not have more than 3 or so roosters. Are silkie roosters friendly? Thanks for all your help!!

You can also post photos of your other chicks to help with gender ID in the "what breed or gender is this? " thread. Unfortunately, the feed stores often mix up the bins. Good luck with all your chicks!:)
