i also want to breed actual bantam cochins
since bantam cochins are actually pekins which is technically a different breed

Yes, but the variety of the breed will be hard to come by.

I’d like to raise a few bantam speckled sussex, but don’t know if it will ever happen.
Also, would like to raise another variety of Sussex.
I’ve been raising the speckled sussex for years and plan to always keep the Sussex breed.

Yes, please!

OP, good luck on your Webstervelder project. Sounds like it could be interesting, for sure!
oh it will be maybe i can breed bantams at some point of the webstervelder

Well I had to move to the city and give up my flock, but I was able to complete one of my two bucket list items: I got a hatchery surprise, straight run. I had always thought it would be fun to see, day by day, what breed and sex I thought I had. It was a blast! Many days were like Christmas--like when I had a salmon breasted (obvious pullet color) grow a crest! Turned out to be a legbar-based olive egger. The other bucket list item wasn't meant to be--raise and keep a flock of Sapphire Gems. I had them previously, had to disperse the flock (serious hubby/domestic issues). Then got more, and, yes, had to move to the city. The Sapphires were so fun though! Pretty birds.

I’m not very experienced with the genetics of it all but I would adore having some sort of Ayam Cemani x Indio Gigante. I’m not sure how I would get it how I imagine it would look like but just being huge and all black sound awesome!

We have several Speckled Sussex hens that are some of the sweetest hens. The Roos however have been more miss than hit on good ones.

If you were closer I would give you a couple Cemani Roos. We purchased , 2 years ago, 8 Cemani chicks that turned into 6 Roos and 1 predator loss of a hen. They are beautiful, but we are trying to get rid of 4 of the Roos. We have a mixed flock and tried to keep the Cemani separate, but then had to weed out too many Roos for 2 hens, and after losing a hen we don’t have the facility to just keep a single hen and Roo isolated. So they are all mixed together now.🤷🏽‍♀️
