My dog used to think it was fun to chase the rooster around a bit. Then see, he grew up. Then he beat her up! I would chase him off if I was out with them.
She knew she wasn't supposed to hurt the chickens though. One time I saw her jump on him, she had the roo down with both front paws on him, it couldda been bye bye rooster, but she didn't bite him. Seemed like after that he would keep to himself and she would also keep to herself. A truce of sorts
The dogs stayed in the front yard and the chickens stayed in the back yard, per their own peace agreement. Which is funny because we were going to put up a fence to do exactly that
So yes, the chickens CAN bully the dogs, particularly if the dogs think they are not supposed to hurt the chickens. As Morgan7782 said, should the chickens stir up something, they won't be in for a fair fight. I doubt you can teach the chickens to leave the dog alone. Roosters are a bit more impressionable IMO, as they have a reputation to keep up with the ladies, so they learn not to pick on someone 6x their size....but I dunno about the hens.
