His Comment - The best reason I've seen yet for having pet chickens!

Where are the Chicken Chariot Races located?

Have you always used the plexiglass barriers?
I was wondering how screen would work.

How do you tell the winner?

What do you do when the chickens:gig
take off the chariot?

Does that disqualify them or not?

How many stable owners participate?

How often do you run?

How do you train?

Cool

Where are the Chicken Chariot Races located?

In Smithville, Ontario at PoultryFest

Have you always used the plexiglass barriers?

The track used to be covered with chickenwire.

How do you tell the winner?

The track is 50 ft long. It's a sprint from starting gate to finish line. Sometimes they turn around and head the wrong way.

What do you do when the chickens take off the chariot? Does that disqualify them or not?

If a chariot comes off, the chicken can still finish the race. However if the next chook crosses the line with it's chariot, it bumps the first one down a rank.

How many stable owners participate?

The race is open to 16 adults, & 16 children's entries.

How often do you run?

The winner's from the first 4 heats go on to the finals.

How do you train?

I have a short version of the track at home. Lucky was trained using grapes & sunflower seeds to get her to run from one end to the other.
