Chicken chores in the dark!

Speaking of not so smart animals, WHY does my Pheasant and 3 of my hens always want to sleep outside? Why oh why? It is cold and nasty outside, warm, dry and safe inside. Of course they roost at the top of the rafters so I have to get a plastic shovel to shoo them off so they will go in. Ugh! Goofy birds!

Goofy things!!!!

I actually like doing the food, water and run cleaning at night. The hens are roosting in the house and I can open the door to the run knowing they won't make a run for it and work without interruption. The colder weather in the dark I can do without. I have a 4-light headlamp that does the trick. Also, I'm quicker to finish.
