Ended Chicken Comb Photo Contests - 2016

Can a mixed breed be entered? If so, what thread should I put a "double" single comb on? He's a Polish X Naked Neck and his comb is essentially two full single combs side by side. It was a neat enough comb to save him from the stew pot!

Plenty of mixed breeds entered. I'd love to see that one. If sumi doesn't reply with what thread to use go with v comb as that's what polish is.

I'd say single combs.. It sounds like an interesting comb!

is a brown leghorn suppose to have a sing comb?If so can I still enter it in the Rose comb contest, or no
You can yes, but it being the "wrong" type of comb for the breed will cost you a few points when we judge.

@sumi

If we don't "name" certain breeds/chickens (as to not become overly emotionally invested) will we lesson our chance of an entry? Meaning if we call a chicken the breed type it is can that conform to byc list of items on how to enter?
OR do you need a "name" to meerly identify entries if there's more then one bird in certain breeds?
Good grief I hope I'm not sounding to technically challenged; today was science(homeschool) can't thou tell? Lol

What you need to include in your entry is:

  • A great picture of a chicken’s comb
  • Breed
  • Age
  • Gender

You don't have to name the bird and you just need to say what breed it is. If you are unsure about the breed, you can say so in the entry, it won't be a problem
