Question... what about a breed that has a comb it isn't supposed to have? Like a silkie with a single comb... is this allowed in single comb contest?

You can enter them, but a "fault" like that would count against them when it comes to judging.

You're welcome to start a thread in the General breed discussions & FAQ or the What Breed Or Gender is This? forum section with pics of your chickens' combs. There are quite a few old threads on combs queries here and they are scattered across the two sections. 

Thanks, no one has answered my comb thread so I took my best guess on a couple and hopefully put them In The right place.
You are allowed 1 entry in each comb type aren't you?
Or is it 1 in total?

What if other chickens are in the background, or the comb is very small but you still want to submit it? I want to submit a picture of my sultan's comb, but her comb is tiny and barely noticeable.

It's o.k. as long as you can see her comb clearly in the pic.
