Chicken coop flooring in CO

So I'm wondering what type of bedding you all prefer to use in your coops? We are currently designing our coop and I'm trying to decide if it would be best to put vinyl flooring down and then use sand or forgo the vinyl flooring. What do you think?

I have flooring in my coop, and shavings on top of that for bedding. The vinyl / linoleum is SO much easier to clean and the dampness doesn't soak into the wood so you don't have that "chicken" smell.
