Chicken coop ideas

hey y’all I’ve been thinking about getting a new coop because mine has been not been hardy through the winter and I don’t think it will hold up until next winter or for the rest of this one, any good places you all think are good to buy coops, constructing one is definitely not an option for me I’m too busy, though I really wish I could,

So you’re going to want to find something at least 20sqft. Check Lowes or Home Depot for small sheds you could easily convert.

Most pre-fab coops don’t last and aren’t predator proof. Your best bet is to build one or refurbish a shed.
Check your local Craigslist or Amish workshops. Good luck!

The shed is a great idea. If you have one big enough, you can even set up your existing coop inside it and replace your doors and windows with screened (hardware cloth) ones ... instant, weather-proof, predator-resistant coop and run! There are also lots of neat ideas on the BYC coop pages, too.

Need at least 20 sq ft in coop and 10 sq ft per bird in run so 50 sq ft in run. Note if plan on expanding in future, need more.
