chicken coop/pen, distance from well?

How far away from our well (water source for human consumption) should animals be? If I set up a goat pen or chicken pen in my backyard, how do I know how far away to put that from the well? I live in Massachusetts, but I can't find any regulations, which is odd, because Massachusetts regulates everything!

But I have mine way away from it but I have seen people around my area with the animals being in and around the area of the well but just to be safe if I was you I would put it as far away as I could mine is across to the other end of our land that way I don't take the chance.

I know for a septic spray field you need to be 100 feet. something around there should be good. That is a regulation for where I live though...
