I really like that one. Thanks!

This is what I always do, and I'm pretty handy with a hammer and nails so this may come easier for me than it does for others.

Go to Google and click on images. Then search for "chicken coop". Find a few pictures of coops that you like, and then combine them to develop plans for your coop.

I'm pretty good with construction, and can sketch quick framing plans, so pictures is usually all I need.

You might try reading this thread. It is where people list their experiences and suggestions for building a coop.

Also, go to the top of the BYC home page and check out "chicken coops".

And just a suggestion. If you go to profiles and put the area you are in so it shows up when you post, it is sometimes easier to answer a question. For example, a coop for Houston, Texas will have different requirements than one for Albuquerque, New Mexico or Inverness, Scotland. Please don't take this as criticism. It is intended as a helpful hint. It took me a while to realize how much this helps.

hi im looking to keep approx 15 chickens to have a bit of a free range

Well at a minimum space requirement of 5 sq ft per bird (with a run for them to use daily) you need 75 Sq Ft. Without a run 150 Sq Ft would be recommended.

So...I would go no smaller that a 9 x 6 as a bare minimum if they are going to be out during the day.

I have 30 in a 12 x 12 and they are out all day from sunrise to sunset, everyday. They get bored and pick at each other if confined all the time. So once the temperature hit freezing and higher, out they go.

Good luck with your search.
