Hi all,
I am purchasing an Eglu go up 3m run and wheels etc.
I have built a square out of some large fence posts that I have drilled together to make a square base. Leftover from my last project...
It will have a heavy duty tarpaulin lining the floor, some bark chippings will be used to fill up the platform.
My question is, will this be suitable for bantams Dutch bantams to be precise.
Also, will I have to purchase some pins? The ones you can buy from omlet to hold the coop and skirting down.-To prevent the fox from scraping away them and finding a way in...The only trouble I have is that the pins would make a hole in the tarpaulin. This is all down to the fact my land is very hostile-bumpy, uneven, rugged. I am in the process of leveling it.
Will the layout be suitable for my upcoming bantams and will it be fox proof?
Many thanks, Alfie

Here is my opinion, and only from my thinking imagination, since there are no pictures for me to comment on.
I looked up the coop that you are talking about, and pretty sure know which you will have. They do show different styles to some degree, but mostly similar.
I think the tarp on bottom is a bad Idea, as it will retain water, and act as a pond when it rains. No tarp means water goes into ground. Anything wet does not make chickens happy. The perimeter from fence posts is good. Secure the skirting to the fence lumber, so a fox is not able to squeeze under.
There are ways to further secure the perimeter from digging predators. It would require to bury hardware cloth outward from run fencing.
Bark chips on ground would be just fine for your Bantam chickens. :thumbsup
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,, and :welcome
