Chicken Coop/Run Calculations

25 chickens with a coop 7' x 15' plus a chicken run 6' x 25'.
Do the 25 chickens have enough room?
Can we get more chickens?

The coop is big enough for the chickens, but you need to add about 100 ft for the run. you can figure space for coop at 4 ft per chicken and for the run, 10 ft per chicken. Also for that coop, you only have 5 ft for feeders and waterers, which needs to figured into your space.

Be sure you have enough space before getting more chickens. Overcrowding can cause all kinds of problems (for you and the chickens)! Good luck!

Chicken run is now 12' x 25' and chicken coop is done. One thing I failed to mention about the coop though, the nesting boxes are in addition to those dimensions as they are accessible from the outside. The main size of the building is 7'x15' but then there are additional "wings" for the nesting boxes.
They loved the extra room today in the run.

I'm sure they appreciate their new, roomier outdoor space

And nest boxes aren't considered "living space" anyhow. Your coop and new run should do fine for your 25 birds.
