Sharing my chicken coop! Built this spring in the midst of covid. Coop is 8x10 and run is 8x12 with a 8x6 addition going up this weekend for the ducks pool!

The residence of this coop currently consists of 5 ducks 13 5 months old chicks and 15 4 week old chicks.

I have high roosts to utilize all the. space in the run and the chickens love them. the ducks have a small pool for them to play in and the run is filled with sand.

My only dilemma as of now is figuring out how to water the ducks in the coop without them making a mess... any suggestions?

I live i ontario canada in the woods and have just started to get into homesteading! For more pics check out my instagram @ echolake_homestead

If you will have 33 adult birds in your coop it might be crowded. Some of your birds may be for meat, I don’t know. But most contributors here suggest 4 sf per bird. With just 80 sf you may find behavior problems later.

i’m only keeping 17 birds total for the fall so no worries there :) My run is extended and will be used all winter for the birds as well!

Nice Logo!

Will you be winterizing the run so they can sleep in there?
Roosts in coop are neat but won't ft 17 birds.
Also wonder about ventilation in coop, eave/soffit ventilation is best for cold climates

The roosts are being modified this weekend to fill two rows of the 10ft side of the coop with a sand shelf to catch the droppings and the ducks nests underneath. All birds will have plenty of space! the run will be winterized and fully accessible!

We have lots of ventilation in the coop! Including a small fan/vent that keeps the air moving just enough!
