Chicken cough or wheeze?

Garngang, I would give all the immune boosting of the treatment, and only of course treat the sick one (isolated) with any meds if you medicate.

As far as a mash, by that I usually mean a wet mash made of a probiotic, some water, honey (a taste), and then sometimes vitamins if I know the bird will eat all of the mash. If you're talking about boosting immunity to fight potential exposure to respiratory illness, then I'd go with the baby vitamins - the polyvisol. If you're talking about just slight respiratory immune boosting and for egg laying, etc then cod liver but you only want to use a tiny tiny bit of it and then only twice a week. I prefer to just spray it (from a hand held sprayer ) on to top of freshly poured food twice a week. I don't use it in drops, etc, because of potentially over doing it.

My pullet is already showing improvements over yesterday. Again thanks for all the knowledge shared!

This is good news!

Well I ended up buying cod liver oil (spring valley brand at walmart it was actully called Norwegian cod liver oil???) bc there was no baby vitamins without iron. I also got some yogurt so I guess I will just mix that all up and put a tiny amount of oil and see if that helps them.

OK if you use the oil, then just literally use a drop or two per bird - no more. Twice a week, not daily.

Ok got it thanks. This cod liver oil is sort of thick looking so hopefully it'll spray. I'm gonna try it. Any other suggestions for mash anyone?

Myboys, this is a bit of an old post, but just wondering, did you ever resolve the issue with your birds? Thanks!

yes thank you. But now have another issue. One of my girls have severe eye gunk & not eating or drinking. Any ideas? Thank you
