CHICKEN CROP PROBLEM HELP!!!

This isn’t an emergency I just need someone to tell me if it’s normal for my chicken to adjust her crop after drinking/eating?she does not do this all the time but she was free ranging so idk if that has anything to do with it. PLS HELP!!! she is about a year old

I've seen my hens do it, and they're all healthy and happy. I think it's normal. As long as the crop is emptying overnight and it's not constant, she should be good to go.

Hi. Yes, they shift stuff around. As Lemon-Drop says, if the crop is empty in the morning, all is well.

Might be worth checking her poop too. If there's a blockage, the poop is either tiny or just runny.

Check her crop for the three types of issue:

Impacted - as hard as a good ball and about the same size or larger

Sour - like a water balloon, just squishy and often the breath smells sweet and sour

Doughy - like Playdoh or clay, if you squeeze it, it maintains the shape you just made

All have different treatments and there's tons on here about them, but that's probably where I'd start of there actually is a problem.
