Chicken Defibrillator!

Yep, the thought did cross my mind that the water would help with conducting the electricity a bit.

I just got home from work and he is still doing just fine. Acts like nothing ever happened. For now, I am going to keep him in the brooder for a few more days. I am too nervous to put him back out in the coop just yet, especially since I still have no idea why he almost died in the first place!

Will try to post a nice pic of the little guy ASAP.

That is a great story and I applaud you for your efforts and not giving up on him. I think what you did and how you kept your head while trying to do the right thing is more than admirable.

Congrats on your quick thinking! Don't you love it when something (in this case First Aid) you learned actually works that way! You're a lifesaver!

I guess that trumps our corn snake miracle - 5 yr old female aspirates water while swimming and goes belly up, limp and no vitals, then we gave CPR. It took a few minutes, we really thought she was a goner. She lived another year and a half.

And yes I would rather give CPR to a snake. They don't eat very often and Jefferson really liked bathtub time, very clean.

Reminds me of the scene, in "There's Something About Mary," where the dog kicks off from overdose and is shocked back to life with an electric cord - only he caught fire. He survived tho, after all this was a 'comedy,' good grief.
