CHICKEN DIAPERS: instructions, how to, advice!

That's been asked many times before on this board in general. I'm sure you could search it and get many answers.

1-If the chicken is sick and has to be brought inside.
2-You just feel like bringing him inside.



Does anyone have a pattern?

theres a cloth diaper for a human baby pattern out there in cyber land i thought could be modified and scaled to chicken use...

Also, I just made one and my silkie seems quite freaked out by it.

It's not strangling her or anything but she is attacking the pouch (kind of like "my feathers never used to feel this way, what the...") and occasionally walking backwards!

Any help or advice?

She'll get used to it. My silkie chicken did the same thing until I made her one that fit correctly.

My rooster did the same thing when I first put him in his harness!! Not only did he attack the harness and walk backwards but once he was finaly fed up he just droped his chest to the floor and rested his beak in front of him, it was the most pathetic thing I had ever seen! I'm expecting the same song and dance when I put the nappie on for the first time!

No different to a dog or cat running around the house, or even a kid .. chickens are cleaner and smell better, and chicken nappies are far more pleasant to change than baby nappies .. so what's the big deal?

My hens got used to theirs fairly quickly, and know that nappies mean snuggles inside or an exciting car trip, and they are more than happy to have them on
