Chicken Diapers?

So i've been wondering, along with everyone I know that has heard about chicken diapers, why would somebody want to change a chicken's diaper? What's the point? Why would you want indoor chickens?

I wouldn't want a chicken living indoors permanantly, but when my favourite girl, a light sussex named Pepper, was badly injured. She just couldn't live with the rest of the flock, so I had to keep her near me. The diaper was time consuming and gross, but seeing Pepper recover and flourish was worth it. But I'm not sure why someone would choose to keep a chicken indoors. If I had a blind or crippled chicken that HAD to live indoors, then I would try to make it work, but honestly, I wouldn't choose to subject chicken to such an unnatural life.
