Chicken Dictionary for Dummies?

I have one! I see people use a three-letter abbreviation which from context I assume means "feed store." As in, "I need to get some more chick starter from the _ _ _."

Sorry I can't find it right now - I went scouring the threads, with no luck. FYC? FSC? Err... something like that.

It's TSC - Tractor Supply Co.

Just read through this post, but couldn't find one I just saw under the "Chickens for sale" section. The chicken was labeled as FQ. What does that mean? Farm Quality or maybe flock quality? Thanks!

I'm guessing you were looking for "LFS" Local Feed Store.

Of course, on fish sites, it's Local Fish Store.

And thanks for the LF thingy. I could NOT figure that one out. With Brahmas wouldn't it be better to specify if they were bantys rather than standard? No wonder I was confused.

I should have know what that one is. It takes me several hours just to run updated to my antivirus. They updated to a new version and i'm still waiting for the CD becaue I couldn't download it.

I need a little clarification on "splash." What exactly does it mean? I know it's something to do with coloration, but that's about it.

Thanks for all the threads that answered my questions!

This achronym thing drives me crazy:barnie

I know times change, but how about good old english?

Hey BRAD, would like to see a link back to the page we were on,
unless I missed it.

Out of touch here in fly over country!!! MIKE

I have looked all over the place for all the abbreviations at shows. I really struggle to understand the placings, breeds and categories when listed in the Poultry Press.

BOBCLLF=Best of Breed clean legged large fowl. Not even sure if that is one of the categories but using it as sort of an example of what I see.

I thought that perhaps I could find all of that somewhere but no luck so far. If all of those could be included I would be forever grateful.

Thanks
