Hello beautiful people!

Unfortunately, I have lost a couple of chickens recently. I am in the process of discerning the reason, however, one of them died near some eggs. Do I dispose of these eggs? Can I wash and eat them?

how long ago did you realize she died? If it was today or yesterday and you moved her, then yes the eggs are completely fine. was she sick? If so the eggs might not be okay to eat because the disease could have gotten in the egg.

If it's something you are worried about and/or not comfortable with, then throw the eggs away.

To find out why your chicken died, a necropsy would give you answers. If you still have the body, double bag it and put it in the refrigerator. Contact your state lab about sending it in. You can look up your lab here: https://www.metzerfarms.com/PoultryLabs.cfm
