Hi,
I have had 2 of 3 chickens die that i got from the same person, one died unexpectedly, the other had an irriatated eye for a few days before dying. The 3rd chicken i got from him just got an eye infection today- she keeps the right eye closed most of the time and it's a bit red and swollen. She is not lethargic, but she does stand around more the others opposed to pecking around at the ground. She is also small for her breed (she is a 23 week old Salmon Fav and is not more than 4 lbs). The other 2 that died were also small. She does eat and drink well as far as i can tell. She has not started laying.
Is there any diseases that might be characterized by these symptoms (or lack of- the eye maybe, lethargy at the very end of life, low weight).
I have 5 other chickens that are all healthy and normal weights.
