Chicken doing egg squat....?

Hello,

My chickens started laying eggs early last summer. They laid about 4-5 eggs a day in the summer then slowly the eggs went down to 2 a day when fall came. Then, they molted. I haven't got a egg for a while.... and now, Kiwi, one of my 11 month old Buff Orps is doing the egg squat. Does that mean she's gonna start laying again? Or is something wrong? Do you hens do that?

As far as I know this is a natural response that happens when a hen is ready to be mounted. Nothing to worry about!

Makes it easy to pick them up!

Like @ColoradoPip said, nothing to worry about, most of my hens squat in front of me. It means they think you're a rooster, lol, and yes she will also likely start laying again soon.
