Chicken Dr Bag

I would not buy a lot of stuff ahead, certainly no antibiotics.

You need some mite/lice prevention like DE, which will also control worms if you add it to feed. A permethrin/pyrethrin dust or spray is a good idea; you'll use it sooner or later to deal with mites/lice. A spray bottle of Blue Kote is only about $6 or so and handy to have if pecking issues arise. Most people already have Neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment around the house. Vaseline is good to use after cleaning a poopy butt, but Neosporin or any other ointment will also work, just more expensive.

I also have a bottle of Epinrex because I plan to worm, but not everyone does this, especially if you put DE in the feed (about 2 cups to 50 lbs. of feed.)

That's all I keep.

If they need electrolytes, you can use a little pedialyte or Gatorade or similar; they should not need much. You can make saline if you need to clean a wound, 1 tsp table salt to 1 quart water.

And if it is for baby brooder raised chicks, do get a carton or two of plain live culture yogurt to get some good gut flora going.

There really is no need to put a bunch of money into a first aid kit.
