Twice now in the last couple of days I have noticed a small amount of clear liquid come out of one of my chickens mouths (6-7 week old Polish chicken). The first time I thought I imagined it but now I'm sure.
She seems perfectly fine other than that and is eating and drinking as normal from what I have seen, very alert and not lethargic at all. She just kinda opened her mouth a crack and it came out and she went about her day like it was nothing, like she just drooled or something. Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure this is not normal.
I picked her up and had a sniff of her beak and couldn't smell anything, though I don't know if I did it right, but I'm thinking it's not sour crop. It's very hot at the moment, is it possible she just drank too much water or is this likely something more serious?
It isn't happening often from what I've seen, though I'm obviously not with them 24/7, but once, let alone twice, over the past 3 days is enough for me to be concerned.
Any advice on what this might be would be much appreciated.
