Hello! I’m looking for guidance and information. I lose 2 to 3 chickens this way every year, chicken begins not pulling her head up and turns into lethargic and plucking her own feathers out. Checked for mites, lice, and warms with no signs. They go like this for three or four days and then they die. I’m not sure what is causing it and I don’t know what it is. The one that lasted the longest like this had clear liquid coming out of her mouth when she was touched. Help me!

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you every had your flock rested for mareks? What do you feed them?

If you are in the US, you can send your chicken's body in to a state lab for a necropsy (after-death exam) and find out what she died of. Once you know, hopefully you can take steps to protect the rest of your flock. Below is a link to a list of laboratories so you can find one near you. Meanwhile, double wrap the body in plastic and refrigerate or put it in a camp cooler with ice to keep it cold util you send it off.
