Chicken drowned in bath? Does she have a chance?

So my 5 year old was suspiciously quiet, nothing good ever comes from that. He told me he was giving the chicken a bath. Apparently he put her in a 5 gallon bucket to wash her and now she's sitting on the ground with her eyes closed wheezing :(
Is there anything I can do to help her? I moved her to a nice warm spot to warm up and dry, my husband suggested holding her by the feet to see if any water would drain out. I am so mad right now and I don't want her to suffer. Is there a chance to save her?

Poor thing. I'm really sorry to hear that.

There is a chance she could make it! get her warm, do try holding her upside down. You could bring her to the vet (I know its expensive). Chickens have very delicate lungs, so you may want to start her on antibiotics.

Best of luck!

It's looking better, the rooster ran over and got her to her feet! She walked slowly back to the coop and groomed herself a little. Perhaps the upside down treatment did the trick, or maybe the cold water put her in shock? We'll see how she looks in the morning...

I'm glad she seems better.
