Chicken/duck coop design

Hi. I am currently designing a new chicken/duck coop. I have decided on concrete a floor. But I was thinking of maybe having the walls of concrete blocks at the bottom 2 feet of the walls to help with cleaning duck poo off of walls. Is this a good idea? I know it would be easier to clean, but I'm worried about it being cold/ insulation problems. The rest of the wall would be made of wood, just bottom part cinder or concrete blocks. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes they stay together. Chickens on top, ducks in the bottom. This arrangement has worked for years with my birds

Not sure where you are located so I don't know your climate, but the concrete blocks will make it cooler in the summer and help insulate it in winter. I'd consider it a good idea.

I am in southeast Va. Hot summers and recently very cold winter. Much colder than we are used to here. Thanks for the advice.
