There's SO MANY things that can affect poultry, it's very hard to know unless some diagnostics are performed.
You are in NC. We have 4 labs in - Raleigh, Monroe, Elkin, Fletcher. If you are in the middle, then Raleigh (Maybe Monroe?) is closest to you. If you call the lab, they will tell you how to print a shipping label to get the carcass to them or if you are close enough to drive, you can likely hand deliver. Talk to them.
