IMO, all bird owners should learn how to tube feed. It's dead simple and much safer than syringing water to them. A sick bird needs way more water than than one can safely syringe.

For those that want to learn, get yourself some aquarium air line from petsmart and a 60 ml syringe from tractor supply, then send me a PM and I'll teach you.

For those that give oil orally, you should google lipoid pneumonia.
