My 6 chickens have begun laying in our backyard now, or at least a few have. One of our chickens named Saphira has been the strongest and most consistant layer, however I'm not sure when her eggs are supposed to get full size.
Her eggs are small, smaller than most eggs. As she lays them, they don't seem to get any bigger per se but they do change shape as some are rounder than others (or sometimes longer). However they never do get any bigger than her first egg. How long after a chicken begins laying would the eggs achieve their full size? Is it based on the amount of eggs laid over time, or an actual time frame not affected by the amount of eggs laid? I would post a picture, but we're fresh out today.
Thanks in advance! Any info or examples would be appreciated!

It's very normal for newly-laying hens to lay small and abnormal eggs. For my flock, it was anywhere between a couple weeks to a month before their eggs were the "full size". Is she a bantam? Bantams will lay significantly smaller eggs.
