Chicken? Egg?

I think we got the turkeys and ducks on June 5th...so they are over 5 months old now. We have 4 ducks of each color we ordered. I wonder whether the cream colored egg was Ancona or Harlequin. Eee! What a wonderful Thanksgiving surprise. Chicken eggs can make some sick to my stomach, so I’ve been crossing my fingers for so long they’d lay this year. I love these little nibblers!

The egg on the left is an egg from one of our adult Barred Rock laying hens. So, these duck eggs are way bigger than the fairy eggs our pullets laid at first, since they are just a bit smaller than an average chicken egg. Cool. Way to go girls! Please don’t lay them in the pond.

We are going to cut down a cedar tree and have it outside, so maybe a few egg shells glued back together and made into ornaments would be cool. Every Christmas decoration needs to be turkey safe.
