Today is day 24 of incubation for baby chickens, which only usually take about 21, as I am sure most of you know. I decided to crack open the eggs to see why they went wrong, as these eggs were bought on eBay, so I was going to send an email back asking for a couple more because none hatched. Then to my suprise, I cracked one open and it began to move! I was so saddened that I cracked it open too early, but the yolk is still intact and it is not bleeding too much. It may be a silly question, but I was wondering if there is anyway this egg could survive? I put it in a plastic bag to sort of hold the shape of an egg and I put it back into the incubator. If it could survive, Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do from here?

I don't know!
Can you post some photos please. Hopefully someone like @Pyxis may be able to help.

Do you still have the bottom half of the egg? If yes, carefully get the yolk and the chick back into it, then prop the egg and chick upwards in a cup and leave it in the incubator. Maybe the chick will be able to absorb the yolk.

But it's been quite awhile since you first posted, so this might be coming too late. Are there any updates?
