I was just wondering if anyone has purchased the chicken Encyclopedia on Google books? I downloaded the sample seems good. But is it 10$ good or just free online info with a price tag? Lol

Never heard of it before. But I’ve learned everything I’ve needed to know so far from googling breeds, how to care for chickens, how to prevent and spot deseases, etc.
and there’s this place as a wonderful resource too

I think I have read every chicken book available in my state library system, but my absolute favorite one is:
The Chicken Health Handbook, 2nd Edition: A Complete Guide to Maximizing Flock Health and Dealing with Disease,
by Gail Damerow.
This one is understandable for beginners and still an interesting read for "experts." It doesn't just talk about health issues, it seems the most comprehensive; it covers facts I haven't seen anywhere else (and chicken trivia). I can't remember if I read the one you mentioned, but I probably have, and if I don't remember it, it usually means it didn't interest me. This one is well worth the $23 on Amazon, in my opinion.

Thank you for the information. I will look for that one this weekend at the library. I usually rely on BYC or Google and have found just about everything I have ever needed. I just happened to come across this Encyclopedia and the preview aloud me to read the A's and B's and it was neat random information. Just wasn't sure exactly how much of it was like you said. Only seen there. Whether due to the authors personal experiences or what not.
