I get bags and bags of bread extremely cheap. If I dry them out and then make them crumbs, is it bad or good for the chickens? Keep in mind that I'm mixing it with pellets

I get old bread for free and I freeze it. Every morning I warm a loaf in the microwave and give it too them. My chickens/dog/horses love it. However, if you are planning to feed a large amount of birds, drying the bread is a good option. I'd store the dried bread in a different bag just in case moisture caused the bread to mold.

Like anything else I believe that it is only bad in excess. As long as they are getting their regular feed I can't see the harm.
