Chicken eye infection

She’s eaten some of the porridge and had a tiny sip of water but hasn’t done much else all afternoon. Her poos don’t look so great either. We had to buy the antibiotics drops online so will need to wait until it arrived.

If she will let you hold her, you could try to feed her a watery mash of feed, water, and egg from a bowl twice a day. The watery mash will get fluids into her. This video is showing a chicken with wry neck, but you could feed your hen with the same method.

I’ve order this… I could get some human stuff from the chemist but haven’t got anything yet.

Veronica seemed to be slightly better yesterday She’s been drinking water when we give it to her and has got up to drink right now. Ate for the first time yesterday afternoon and this morning.
She is sleeping all day and in Cherry arms. Cherry is the housemate who is spending the most time with Veronica. This initially worried us but we’re thinking she’s feeling comfortable and is recovering.
Eye clean this morning still has lots of discharge.

Can you get some antibiotic eye drops or an antibiotic ointment? What do you use for first aid and cuts?
