Hi All! Im new here and somewhat new to backyard chickens. I have a question and cant seem to find an answer.

I noticed something strange o. One of my hens yesterday. Her face feathers looked "wet". Around her head too. I picked her up and they felt kind of sticky and "crunchy" but not wet. I did notice a little discharge for a second from her nostril but no other concerns. Im giving the flock VetRX and everyone else seems great. Only her. Today I picked her up and now it's starting down her wing area. No parasites, injury, feathers loss, wound, skin looks healthy too. I checked her out thinking she was getting beat up by some of the other girls. Nothing. They were free ranging over 7 acres, but lately Ive kept them in the run. Any thoughts on whats making her look wet and sticky?

It could be mucus from nostrils or eyes, or she could be drooling from something wrong inside her beak. Look for bubbles in either eye, and open beak and look for mucus, yellow canker material, and check her crop early morning to make sure it is emptying overnight. Is she sneezing, rattling, or shaking her head?
