Chicken farm??

A chicken shop, slaughter house. They sell live and slaughter animals.
Still not clear to me.
They slaughter chickens and other animals brought to them by the general public??
What is the exact name of the business?

Oh, OK.
So freshly butchered birds for eating sold to the public?
Do they slaughter and butcher other peoples birds too, like a processor?

I haven't seen too many people who bring their chickens in. But the businesses are a little different and the states restrict a lot.... The permit I want is a limited poultry and egg operation which restricts you to 1,000 laying hens a year and 20,000 sold chickens a year... But they won't let you sell them wholesale to grocery stores or anything like that. They only allow you to sell on roadside stands or at farmers markets or similar "open air" venues. But they don't raise any animals there at the chicken shop. Chickens are the main focus but quail, rabits, goats and some other animals are sold too.. but most people come for the chickens

Our family owns a chicken shop and they know a lot about chickens... I know a lot too but I'm still learning you know but I'm wanting to branch out to a chicken farm with the help of my family... Since I've only really taken care of personal chickens... How would I go about managing thousands?? How do chicken farms like that work?? Obviously workers would be needed but like what would be involved into that?? I would need to free range them but with all those chickens do you have to organize them some how?? How could you section them off and would that be considered free range?? How do you go about any of that lol thanks. FILL ME WITH KNOWLEDGE!! :bow what degrees or stuff areare nee

Look up and contact some of the large chicken integrators. Almost all of the poultry grown today are grown by chicken farmers who work for or under the direction of vertical integrators. It is a precarious and hard way to make a living but with luck and a lot of hard work you can do well. My recommendation is to never buy a chicken farm from a third party because that means that there may be a problems with the physical plant and that means you may never get chicks to populate your chicken houses because you may never find an intergrator who will contract with you because title to the birds is held buy the integrator and you only own the equipment and restate.
