Chicken Flashmob!

OK, THIS IS FREEKY. All my chickens, babies and grown, just did a flashmob! I thought, "no way", and I turned my head and looked and every last one of them were frozen and looking right at me! I'm not joking! It just happened. After 30 seconds I yelled "knock it off" and they all broke and ran to the coop. WTF!!!

Anyone else ever have this happen?

Welcome to BYC, eggcited to have you here with us. I haven't had it happen with all of them just the rooster that happens to notice if your wearing the wrong shoes, while he decided if it's an invader that needs attacking or not lol

I have a Brown Leghorn Roo, 3 mature Barred Rock Hens, two mature Easter Eggers, five cornish meat chicks, four baby Barred Rock Hen chicks, three Black Sex Link Hen chicks and two Black Orpington hen chicks.
Every last one of them did a flashmob on me. They froze in place for almost a minute. It really freaked me out.

Isn't a flashmob dancing, thus movement?
They probably heard a predator, or something that made them nervous, and froze to listen.

Sounds like they were "frozen" because a large shadow crossed above them and they were responding to this as a predator, or, one of them made a cry that indicates a predator close. They will freeze for a minute then run for the coop when they think a predator is approaching. Just like @aart said!!
