Hello!
Lately I’ve noticed one of my hens has been acting strangely. She has had her tail down and has been fluffed up while standing, with a thousand yard stare. She is also drooling and has a pale comb? She just stands in the outside run pretty much motionless, staring and drooling. When the other chickens run for snacks she just lets herself be bumped into and ran over. I picked her up today and felt her abdomen and didn’t feel anything hard. When I ran after her to pick her up she just stumbled away halfheartedly. I looked at her vent and saw a bit of dried poop but I was extremely strapped for time and didn’t wipe it off. Here are some photos. Sorry for the low quality. The second one is of her a week or so ago when I first noticed the strange behavior. Her comb has grown paler since then, to a pale chalky pink. Please help!!

All of the crisis issues I can think of would have made the hen dead by now, or maybe some temporary illness that would have resolved by by this time. Egg binding, bacterial infection, crop issue, coccidiosis - it could still be one of these, but more likely it's a chronic condition such as avian virus and tumors.

I'm sorry. I'm at a loss as what to suggest. Hopefully others will be along with more inspiration.

Okay. Thank you for your advice. I will look into taking her to the vet on Monday. Should I isolate her?

I don't think it's necessary to isolate her. I doubt it's contagious, if it is the flock has already been exposed, and she will be happier and less stressed remaining with her flock.
