Was cleaning the chicken pen and put the chickens in the coop to roam. The roosting bar fell and landed on its foot. The chick is putting weight on the foot. We finally got the bleeding to stop with iodine (all we had on hand). Chick is separated from flock now. Any tips? Advice? What do we put on it? What can we do for the chicken? How long do you keep
It separated? How do you introduce it back
To the flock? Sadly it’s our smallest chick too.

Aw man, that's so sad to look at... Spray her foot with vetericyn and put bacitracin on it. Have you seen the foot splints they put on chicks with crooked toes?

Try this but don't cover her toes and wrap the part on her ankle that's split. Wrap it tight, but not too tight that you feel like it's going to hurt her. Don't let her walk around, that will inflame it. Don't let her littermates pick on her. Hope she gets better! 💕
