Chicken Fortress! (photo)

Do you have to feed them fish and do they need water? Because I actually have a pond about 100 ft behind my coop.

Mine have never eaten fish. They eat chicken feed, and do need enough water to drink and clean their nostrils. I just use a large bucket in winter, or a dish pan. In summer I have a water trough I fill for them. Any water source will be dirty within minutes, and the area around it will get muddy. They also like to dabble and make holes in the ground. A pond would be heaven for them. Just beware of predators.

You know, I'd leave the ladder and seat and go ahead with finishing the interior. Nothing like the happy sounds and smells of a chicken coop to mask your intent

Then if you get a deer you can gut it right by the coop, take the good stuff away to process and let the birds out to clean up. Everyone happy!

Some ideas I get from this forum are so out of the box and brilliant. If I could I would patent all of them!

Heres some more of what I have done today, lots of work today.
