Chicken found alive after 1-2 months of being trapped

I'm not sure I follow. If my chicken goes off the property, why would I need to shoot a dog? I'd only shoot a dog if it came onto my property and intended to do harm to or harass my animals.

A guy in SC posted he got arrested and charged with felony cruelty to animals. When his neighbors came to retrieve their dogs body they discovered it was still alive. Now they're claiming he shot it in revenge and suing him for vet bills
