This morning I was woken by my now 3yo ex batt making an awful sound.
I rushed out and found her laying on the ground with one wing and one leg ( the same side ) outstretched. She was out in the rain and the temp was about 3°c
She had been limping the day before, but still running around. No signs of bumble foot, no redness, or scale mite on her leg.
I brought her inside, put her down on a towel and she stood up, weight on both legs, but fell when she tried to take a step.
I put her in the bathtub with some warm towels and food and water.
When I got up at 9 she was happily pecking away at her food, and by 11 I removed her from the tub and she was walking fine. She even laid an egg!
Does anyone have any ideas of what happened and how I can help prevent it happening again. Sherah is a much loved chicken and companion to our other bird Ripley
