Hey everybody, me again. So, I have this Red Star Sex Link hen, we got her as a chick from Murdoch's about 3.5 years ago. Her name is Indy. I found her Thursday evening, lying in a corner of the coop. She HATES people and runs away, normally. But she didn't even flinch when I reached down for her. She let me pick her up and everything, didn't even peck me or flap in my face. I saw that her leg was bent backward, and the other hens were pecking at her head. We didn't want her to have the stress of being taken from the flock, but we didn't want the other 5 hens pecking her, so we put a big dog kennel in the middle of the coop, put some grass/alfalfa mix hay in for bedding and a snack, filled a little chick feeder with feed (mostly Purina Layena pellets, with about 1/4-1/3 of it replaced with Purina scratch grain), and got my cat's water bowl and gave it to her. We put some electrolytes in some fresh water today. She has to be forced to drink. I can't tell if she's eating or not, but it looks like there's less food than when we started, and I doubt Midnight (our Black Jersey Giant hen) would let any mice get that far into the coop. She's been sleeping about 3/4 of the time, and she's always been just lethargic. We are taking her to a vet the next town over tomorrow morning. Does anybody know how else we can help Indy? Feel free to ask for any extra information!
Yours truly, @MixFlocksRule13

The leg bent backward - I think she might have an injury. I just went through something like that with my bantam. She couldn't walk and the rooster was dragging her by her waddle. She would flip over when she tried to get up. I quarantined her but she could see and be close to the flock , amazingly she got better. It took a week before ok I think she is going to make it. Another week and a half and started letting free range with the flock but she started limping and back into quarantine. If it is an injury I think your bird has a chance has a chase.

That doesn't sound good. Her leg must be injured. It sounds like the flock may be causing her some stress, so I would take her out of the coop and put her in a nice, quiet place. The kennel is great, keep her like that until you see the vet. I hope she's ok!
