They enjoy long walks on the beach, movies, dancing the night away, and talking on the phone with friends...and who doesn't enjoy a good game of scrabble! [IMG] I did it again...throw some mice in there! [IMG]

I take some of my greens from the garden and hang them up in the run. They seem to enjoy the extra bit of work.

I cut the watermelon in half (usually over 6 lbs), took the inside out for us to eat, then I put the watermelon skin in the pen. When I got home late in the day, what left is the size of a chocolate cookie.[IMG]

If your situation allows you to let them free range even a few hours a day; that is the best cure for boredom that I have found.:)If you can't,a head of cabbage hung in the run will keep them busy for hours.

:gigYup, the hanging head of cabbage is good. You could also see if they like the hokey pokey!

I take a cordless drill and make a hole in the stem and push a string thru the hole. You could probably make a hole with a ice pick.
Sometimes it's easier if you peel off a few leaves first to give you more stem to work with. My, the things we do for these birds!!![IMG]

I like to take a large melon and just cut off the top and place it in the coop. They are so FUNNY!

I have used a tub of frozen veggie stew to keep them busy for hours. May not be good if your in a frozen area now, it was spring when I did it. Also I have gone to the bait shop and bought a big container of crickets for them to chase and hunt. Big steamed broccoli heads tied to a string and drug around (cold of course).
In the spring and summer you would be hard pressed to find a bug in my yard at any given time but go out side of the fence on the back field in the summer and there are a million grass hoppers. I am probably one of the few people within 40 miles that would take my chickens out for daily grasshopper killing walks 2 or 3 at a time for hours on end on the weekends until everyone had their chance of getting their fill.
