Chicken Gaping

Hello! I hope everyone is having a good day! I went out to my flock this morning to give them a treat and found one of my chickens gaping. Could she have something stuck in her throat? Thank you!

A chicken will gape for a number of reasons.

One is stress. Another is heat. A crop disorder can do it.

If something is caught in her throat, you might hear a whistling sound.

Gape worm can cause it, but if you're in the US, it's not very common.
