Chicken Garden

Like most of us, I've had to become creative to keep my hens away from my potted plants but I would love to create a garden for them, hoping that will help. I know it needs to be established before they're released into it - my question is - how long did y'all keep your hens out before deciding it was established enough?

When I created my chicken garden I let them in after 2-3 months. That being said, they did prove troublesome and find their way to jump the chicken wire at times to eat the plants

I've been checking my camera occasionally and running outside to spray them with a spray bottle when I catch them in there. When my son called asked me what I was doing and I said "chasing chickens with a spray bottle" he told me I had stumped him so bad he didn't remember what he called for!

Why do we like these little troublemakers so much?

That’s a good question
Maybe it’s because they’re just so stinking cute! It’s so hard to stay mad at them as they look up at you with their beady eyes and that little head tilt!
