Chicken gender confusion!

I have a chicken whose gender is in question. I caught the cockerel (crowing now so I know its a boy) trying to mate with it yesterday. So, I thought, ok, it's a pullet.

And yet, today, I caught that same chicken trying to mate with one of my pullets!

What is going on? Thoughts - is it a male or female?

The man I got them from said they were born in December. Not sure which week. None of them are laying yet.

Roos will try to mate with other roos, but hens don't typically try to mate with hens. My guess is that he's a boy.
